Two face drug charges after Interstate 30 stop

HOPE – this past Friday, September 19th, 8th North Drug Task Force agents Gary Dorman and Turner Reed assisted the Arkansas State Police with the investigation and arrest of two men who had been stopped by an ASP trooper near the 30-mile maker on Interstate 30.

Officers allegedly located approximately two pounds of methamphetamine, over $13,000 in cash and a loaded firearm. Arrested and charged with simultaneous possession of Drugs and Fireman and Trafficking a Controlled Substance were Rodney Oliver, age 46, with a listed address of Kansas City, Kansas and Carey Bell. age 48, who lists a Hope, Arkansas address was also charged with Possession of a Firearm by Certain Persons.

Both men were transported to the Hempstead County Detention Center and awaiting a First Court Appearance.
