Honoring the Life & Legacy of Fana Johnson-White

On February 28, 1950, a beautiful baby girl named Fana Queenetta Johnson-White was born in Hope, Arkansas to the late Joe Johnson and Viola Webb Johnson. Fana attended Yerger High School and was a proud member of the Class of 1969.

She was a faithful member of Rising Star Baptist Church, where she served on both the Usher Board and the Mission Department until her health declined. Fana cared for many children while working at the Rising Star Daycare Center, and continued to do so in her home after the center closed. She also worked for many years in dietary services at Heather Manor Rehabilitation until her health began to fail.

Fana was known to many as the “Birthday Lady” on Facebook—if she knew it was your birthday, she made sure to shout it out. She was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan; win or lose, she cheered them on proudly.

Most of all, she was a loving and devoted mother to her children—Tammy, LaTrenda, KimBerlyn, and Jeris—each of whom she called by a special name. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who affectionately called her “Nay Nay,” were the joy of her life, and she loved each one in a truly special way. Family was everything to her, and she always made it a priority to stay connected with loved ones near and far.

Fana peacefully departed this life at the age of 75 on September 16, 2025, at St. Vincent Hospital in Hot Springs, AR, surrounded by her children as they lovingly whispered their final “I love you.”

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Billy, Jerry, and Alfred Johnson; her sister, Irene Stuart; brother-in-law, James Monk; son-in-law, Bobbe Muldrow; as well as several aunts, uncles, and other close relatives.

Fana leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with her three daughters, Tammy Muldrow, LaTrenda (Floyd) Trotter, and KimBerlyn (Jeffrey) Newton, all of Hope, AR; one son, Jeris (Amy) White of Fayetteville, AR; her devoted partner, Robert Pace; ten beloved grandchildren, Ja’Michael, Jordan, Markeese, Kerrick, Branden, Malik, Damien, Aaliyah, Cruz, and Sienna; seven great-grandchildren, Kadence, Malayha, Karson, Peyton, Baby Bryson, Aria, and Kiya; her sisters, Lorene Galbert of Los Angeles, CA, and Corene Monk and Jackie McClure, both of Hope, AR; brother, Joe Davis Johnson of New York; aunt, Bobbie Webb of Kansas City, KS; sister-in-law, Doris Donaldson; godson, Derrick Carrigan; bonus siblings, Valene Hendrix, Ruby Miller, Joe Maxwell, and Charles Martin; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
