Roy Chester Ross (affectionately called Groovie Boy) – Updated
Roy Chester Ross (affectionately called Groovie Boy) was born on June 8, 1950 in Nevada County, Arkansas, born to Henry Wilton and Willie Mae White Ross. Roy passed away peacefully at Northcrest Rehabilitation Center in Waterloo, Iowa formerly of Hope on October 1, 2025.
He attended school at Nevada Elementary, Shover Street, and Yerger High. He worked several jobs in the Hope area.
He is preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and one sister. He met and married Verna Mae Hill and to this union three sons were born. He later moved to Waterloo, Iowa to be with his loving family; there he met and married Charolette Brown.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Charolette Brown Ross of Waterloo, Iowa; four sons, Rodney (Susan “Mo”) Hill of Springdale, Arkansas, Thimothy (Christine) Ross of Wake Village, TX, Antonio (Leticia) Ross of Waxahachie, TX, Donnie Brown of Waterloo, Iowa; two daughters, Kelea (Craig) Levingston of Waterloo, Iowa and Lynnette Brown of Denver, CO; one brother, George Ross of Hope; three sisters, Erma Turner, Ethel Garland and Connie Jefferson of Hope; one aunt, Bettye Morrison; 19 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
