Lafayette County crash kills two

GIN CITY – Two people are dead in a crash that occurred Thursday (10/16) near Gin City in southern Lafayette County. According to the prelimenary accident report from the Arkansas State Police, apparently smoke from a nearby fire was causing reduced visibility on Arkansas Highway 160. A 2007 Freightliner traveling east struck a 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe traveling west. 28-year-old Sara Nix and a minor child in the Tahoe were killed. (It is the policy of the State Police to not release the names of minors.)
The crashed occurred at 3:35 pm. Trooper Justin Cherry was the investigating officer.
