Blevins School Board meets

BLEVINS — The Blevins School Board met Monday evening for its regular monthly meeting to discuss district updates, policy revisions, and upcoming elections. The meeting opened with prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance.
Board members approved the minutes of the September 22, 2025, meeting and the September 30, 2025, financial report. Both motions passed unanimously.
District and Curriculum Updates
The Curriculum Coordinator provided an update on recent ATLAS testing results for the district, outlining performance trends and ongoing instructional goals.
The school principal shared a report on current academic progress and recent campus activities.
Board Elections and Policy Actions
The board received information regarding upcoming school board elections scheduled for March 3, 2026. Three positions will be open for the election in Zones 1, 6, and 7.
Members approved several updated board policies, including:
• 3.56 (Licensed Personnel Parental Leave)
• 4.5 (School Choice)
• 8.46 (Classified Personnel Parental Leave)
The board also voted to amend Policy 1.6.1 (Attending Meetings Remotely), determining that members will no longer be permitted to attend board meetings virtually. The motion passed by a 5–1 vote.
Campus Security Improvements
The board approved a bid from Progressive Technologies totaling $13,019.75 for new video security cameras on campus. The project includes replacing cameras in the cafeteria and adding new cameras in the Pre-K building.
Personnel and Adjournment
Following an executive session to discuss personnel matters, the board reconvened and approved the personnel list as presented.
Before adjourning, members were reminded of upcoming ASBA board training opportunities. The meeting concluded at 8:20 p.m.
