Announcement for Candidacy for Hempstead County Collector – Diane Honea Westbrook

To My Community, Family and Friends I consider to be my Family.

It is my Honor to announce my candidacy for the Hempstead County Collector. I am a native resident of Blevins and graduated from there. I am married to Sammy Westbrook and have two children, Leann Westbrook who is currently finishing her PhD in Agricultural Economics at Oklahoma State University Stillwater, Oklahoma, and Allen Westbrook who lives in Blevins and is currently an Agriculture Education Teacher at Redwater ISD in Redwater, Texas.

I have been employed in the Hempstead County Collector’s Office since September 2017. I have been working as the Chief Deputy Collector since July 1, 2020, overseeing, and maintaining the day-to-day operation of this Office.

I have over forty plus years of office experience in accounting and office duties. I have worked as an employee for others and have been self-employed during that time. I understand the importance of the duties and responsibilities of the Collector’s Office and strive to make sure all taxpayers are treated equally and with respect.

The door to my office will always be open to anyone who has questions or problems with their tax statements. If I cannot answer them directly, I will not stop until I have an answer to your problem.
