Archie Franklin “Red” Ammons

Archie Franklin Ammons, known to all as “Red,” passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 26, 2025, in Arkadelphia. He was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, and dedicated businessman whose enduring presence will be deeply missed by his family and community.

Red was born on December 22, 1926, in Willisville, Arkansas, to the late Luther Franklin Ammons and Allie Mae Winn. A man of remarkable dedication and work ethic, he spent 33 years as co-owner of Ammons Gravel, where he and his daughter, Robin, shared countless hours driving their truck together—a testament to his close family bonds and strong commitment to his work.

His life was a beautiful example of commitment, most notably in his marriage to his beloved wife, Dorothy Louise Ammons. They shared an incredible 78 years together before her passing, a lifetime of companionship, love, and partnership.

Red’s legacy is carried on by his two daughters: Robin Rebecca Jackson (Randy) of Cale, AR, and Cynthia Renee Clifton (Larry) of Cale, AR; Grandchildren, Joshua Clifton and Brandy Clifton, who will forever hold his memory in their hearts.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy; his brother, William Andrew Ammons (Vivian) of Prescott, AR; his sister, Annie Mae Green; and his grandson, Brandon Clifton.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Brazzel Cornish Chapel.

Graveside Service will take place on Friday, October 31, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Friendship Cemetery in Cale, AR, with Bro. Joe Brown officiating.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Brazzel Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott.
