Hope Bobcats fall to the winless Texarkana Razorbacks 57-10 Friday night

The Bobcats were also looking for their first victory within 5A-South conference play. Cat’s started the scoring after recovering a fumble on the Arkansas High 35-yard line. The Cats would score in the first quarter. as quarterback Trey Hoglund completed the short drive on a three-yard run for the 7-0 lead. The drive included passes to Jordan Brown & Noah Cheatham prior to Hoglund’s rushing TD.

It didn’t take the Razorbacks long to retaliate, scoring near the end of the first quarter scoring on a rushing touchdown then fumbling the snap on the extra point attempt and turning it into a 2-point conversion to lead 8-7 at the end of the first quarter.

Arkansas High turned the game around quickly scoring 4 TD’s in the second quarter to build its lead with Hope’s only score a 27 yard field goal to end the the half with the Razorbacks leading 36 to 10.

Arkansas High continued the onslaught, scoring two rushing touchdowns to put the game away leading 50 -10 in the third quarter.

With the clock running continuously the entire 4th quarter due to mercy rule, the Hogs ended the scoring a rushing TD ending the game with a score of Texarkana 57 and Hope 10.

The Bobcats overall record falls to (1-7) with Texarkana’s first victory of the season moves their record to (1-8)

The Cats end their season at home next week hosting the Magnolia Panthers at Hammons Stadium at 7 PM Friday night.
