Melody Ann Witherspoon

Melody Ann Witherspoon was born on December 16, 1982, in Buck Range, Arkansas, to Mary Witherspoon and the late Eulas Witherspoon Jr. She departed this life on October 13, 2025, in Phoenix, Arizona. Melody is preceded in death by her father, Eulas Witherspoon Jr.; her grandparents, Coretha (Coulter) and Eulas Witherspoon Sr., Ivory and Janie Nunnally; her brother, Michael Witherspoon.

Melody was truly one of a kind – a joyful spirit whose laughter and excitement about life could lift the heaviest heart and brighten any room with her energy. As the youngest of 12 siblings, she brought fun and laughter everywhere she went.

A devoted mother of three, Melody’s greatest joy was her children, her grandchildren, and her family – whom she loved deeply and cherished wholeheartedly. She dedicated her life to doing whatever was required to make sure her family was supported and surrounded by love back home, and her grandchildren were taken care of. She selflessly helped with them and gave her all without hesitation. Melody was a woman of God, filled with faith, love, and a deep commitment to spiritual work. She spent her life serving in the Kingdom – praying, uplifting, and helping others find strength and hope in the Lord. Her relationship with the Holy Spirit was evident in her words, her actions, and the way she cared for everyone around her. She was truly a vessel of light, always reminding others that God’s love never fails. Melody loved humming and singing just about anything, and although she didn’t always share her voice with the world, those closest to her know how beautiful her voice truly was. Her melodies will forever echo in our hearts. She loved to travel. Melody will be remembered for her laughter, her kindness, her faith, and the way she made every moment bright. Her light will continue to shine through the lives she touched and the seeds of love she gave freely.

She leaves to mourn her loving memory her mother, Mary Witherspoon of Nashville, Arkansas; two daughters, Trinity Sharnay and Jamyiah Areona Reed; one son, Martel LaMar Reed – all of Phoenix, Arizona; and three grandsons – Caiden Hendrix, Caisen Hendrix, and Martel LaMar Reed Jr., who is expected to arrive any day now. Six brothers: Robert (Danyeill) Green of Phoenix, Arizona; Eulas (Kamiesha) Witherspoon III of Desoto, Texas; Anthony Witherspoon of Mineral Springs, Arkansas; Jerome Witherspoon of Mineral Springs, Arkansas; Marcus Witherspoon of Dallas, Texas; and Floyd (Tyronda) Smith of Lockesburg, Arkansas. Three sisters: Carolyn (Chris) Morris of Nashville, Arkansas; Marilyn (Tony) Witherspoon of Nashville, Arkansas; and Rhonda Witherspoon of Nashville, Arkansas. She also leaves behind 34 nieces and nephews and a host of relatives and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
