Roy Lee Gierth, Sr.

Roy Lee Gierth, Sr., age 89, of Hope passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2025, in Texarkana.

Mr. Gierth was born in Three Rivers, TX on June 19, 1936, 30 minutes after his twin sister Joylyn was born. Roy was born to John and Anna Gierth.

Roy married and they settled in Prescott, AR where they raised 4 children together on their farm: Roy Jr, Rhonda, Charles and Reggie.

Roy is preceded in death by his mother and father Anna and John Gierth, brothers Johnny and Williard Gierth, sisters Dorothy Wilson and Helen Hammock.

He is survived by his twin sister Joylyn Putz of Hope, AR; his children Roy (Cindy) Gierth of Arkadelphia, AR, Rhonda Brown of Seguin, TX, Charles (Sharon) Gierth and Reggie (Beverly) Gierth both of Prescott, AR; 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Monday, November 17, 2025, starting at 1:00pm until Chapel service time at 2:00pm at the Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home

Chapel with Bro. Neal Ridling officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, under the direction of Herndon-Fuqua Funeral.
