Allie Mae Marlar – Updated
Allie Mae Marlar, 90, passed from this life on October 22,2025. She was born in the small, rural community of Highland in Pike County on May 4, 1935, to the late William and Adele (Steuart) Marlar. She graduated from Hope High School in 1954. Allie worked for Southwestern Bell in Dallas, TX until her retirement and returned to Hope to be closer to her family. She was an avid reader, acquiring quite a library over the years. Allie always had a kind word and a sweet smile for anyone who came in contact with her. She loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and spoke often about her faith with friends and family in her later years.
She was preceded in death by seven sisters and three brothers. Mary Faye Maroon, Ruby Inez Chapman, Alice Ruth Marlar, Della Jo Cowart, Minnie Jean Marlar, Billie Sue Gleason, Kelley Thell Overstreet, Luther Lile Marlar, Glenn Reed Marlar and Steven Ray Marlar.
Left to cherish memories of Allie are her nieces and nephews. They would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff, affiliated with Heather Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, for the gentle and loving care that they provided for our Aunt Allie for the past few years. They would also like to thank Dennis Ramsey for all that he has done for Allie and Steve. He was there for them when the family couldn’t be. For that, we are eternally grateful.
Graveside services were held for Allie Tuesday, October 28th, 2025, at Marlbrook Cemetery, Blevins, AR. Rev. Daniel Bramlett presiding under the direction of Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home. Family and friends are invited to attend and share memories of Allie.
