Blevins School Board holds November meeting, approves budget and policy updates

BLEVINS – The Blevins School Board convened for its regular meeting on Nov. 10 at 6:30 p.m., covering a full slate of financial approvals and policy actions before adjourning at 7:22 p.m.
After opening procedures, the board unanimously approved the previous meeting’s minutes and reviewed the October financial reports, which were also approved without opposition.
In new business, members voted unanimously to adopt a proposed budget of expenditures for the upcoming period. The board also approved a computer science educator bonus, payment of a college tuition invoice, and the creation of a booster club activity account.
A revised cell phone policy received unanimous approval, as did an E-rate purchase order. The board also authorized the purchase of progressive technology—described as vape-detection equipment—at a cost of $6,622.
The principal, Dr. Kim Turner, delivered the monthly principal’s report, followed by an update from the district’s curriculum coordinator. Board members were also briefed on upcoming ASBA annual conference and school law dates.
Later in the meeting, the board unanimously voted to rescind a kindergarten teacher contract.
No executive session was held, and the meeting adjourned at 7:22 p.m.
