Myrtle L. Smither – Updated

Myrtle L. Smither, age 99, of Hope, Arkansas passed away on December 8, 2025.

Mrs. Smither was born on August 16, 1926, in Carthage, Arkansas to her parents, George and Effie Kingery. She was the youngest of 13 children. She had a passion for sewing, gardening, cooking, and baking. She also enjoyed entertaining her friends and family.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Grover E. Smither; and 12 siblings.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Mark Smither and wife Julie; two grandchildren, April Smith, Mark Brandon Smither and wife Evelyn Obarowski; two great grandchildren, Michael Martin, Claire Smith; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Brazzel-Oakcrest Funeral Home.

Funeral services will follow immediately at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be a Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Brazzel-Oakcrest Funeral Home.
