Hope School District news notes

HOPE – Hope School District has kept busy recently. During November’s Board meeting there was an update on a student car incident. All students were said to be recovering well, and staff followed the appropriate supervisory procedures.
Hope Schools are currently earning a C letter grade with students in the bottom 25 percent approaching the meets expectations threshold. There’s progress in success indicators and there’s a 92 percent graduation rate.
A millage resolution was presented regarding the 2028 budget including a $20 million building fund. The resolution proposed a 5 mill increase. The resolution was approved allowing the district to prepare it for the March 2026 ballot.
Dr. Guevara provided an update on the Magnet Promise study. Thanks continuation of the contract was approved.
Superintendent Dr. Crossley presented a recommendation and quote for window renovation for the administration building. The Board approved obtaining the recommended renovations.
A technology quote for KnowBe4 cyber security awareness training was presented and approved.
Dr. Crossley presented CPOC and PPC updated versions addressing paternity and maternity leave.
Sports medicine job descriptions were discussed and the board approved updated athletic trainer/sports medicine job description.
There was an employee contract rescission due to a program licensure approval not being provided for the employee in question.
November’s personnel packet was approved.
There was a student hearing in which the student failed to show. The student was expelled for a year.
The meeting adjourned.
In other news Fill the Bus food campaign continues through the 16th with drop offs at all of the school offices. The most needed items are canned fruits, vegetables and soups and holiday foods. Dr. Linda Clark is the contact person.
There will be early dismissal on December 17th-19th with the time of 1 at Clinton and 1:20 at all other campuses
