Mrs. Lee Esther Johnson

Mrs. Lee Esther Johnson was born in Garland City, Arkansas to Henry and Ruby James. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1958. She then moved to Denver, Colorado. She united with William T. Hill (Texarkana) in 1959. To this union two children were born: William H. Hill (who preceded her in death) and Kevin Hill. She later united with Louia Hopson and son Louia Lee was born. Later in life, she married Charles Johnson, Jr. and was married 30 years until his demise.

She worked at Champion Parts Rebuilders in Hope, Arkansas for 33 years before retiring in 2010. She moved to live with her son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Chandrika in 2015 until her demise.

She was a member of Bethel AME Church for over 40 years, where she served in various roles, including, adult choir, Missionary Society, kitchen coordinator, Stewards Board #2 and then president of the Stewards.
