Mr. Jack Norman Gathright

Mr. Jack Norman Gathright, age 93, of Hope, Arkansas passed away on December 26, 2025, in Texarkana, Texas.

Mr. Gathright was born in the Okay Village in Saratoga, AR on May 14, 1932, to Lyn and America Marie Green Gathright. He was a degreed electrical engineer and worked almost his entire career with Ideal / Holnam Cement Company in various management positions. Mr. Gathright was a nearly 60-year member of the Hope Lions Club, serving in numerous positions, most notably, fish fryer, and was also awarded Lion of the Year.

He was a former deacon, elder, and a member of the Hope Church of Christ where he was very faithful to his Lord and Savior. An avid golfer, he spent many hours at the Hope Country Club. The most important part of his life, though, centered around spending time with his family and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his spouse of 65 years, Janie Louise, his parents and one brother, Jimmy “Scrub” Gathright.

Mr. Gathright is survived by one daughter, Janine Allen and her husband, Richard, of Oakhaven, AR, one son, Gary Gathright of Texarkana, TX, a sister, Linda Blan, of Catoosa, OK, and one grandchild, Madalyn Jane Gathright of Austin, TX and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 29, 2025, at Brazzel-Oakcrest Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Brazzel-Oakcrest Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Saratoga Cemetery under the direction of Brazzel-Oakcrest Funeral Home.
