Julius N. (Doc) DeLaughter, Jr. – II Update

Julius N. (Doc) DeLaughter, Jr. was born December 30, 1949, to Julius N. DeLaughter, Sr. and Lois Meux DeLaughter in Nevada County, Arkansas.

After graduating high school, he went on to attend college and graduated in 1973.

He enlisted with the Arkansas National Guard and served twenty years and retired as a Captain.

In 1977, he was elected Sheriff of Nevada County, Arkansas, where he went on to serve eight years in that capacity.

He went on to graduate from the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy in1982 and Hostage Negotiations with the FBI in 1984.

From August 1999 – December 2002, he was the Assistant Warden at the Arkansas Department of Corrections, Delta Regional Unit in Dermott, Arkansas.

From August 2004 until September 2005, he served as Deputy Director and Instructor, Internal Affairs, in Baghdad, Iraq.

From April 2006 until March 2010, he served as Senior Mentor/Developer, Team Chief, Deputy Director and Director, Internal Affairs with MPRI, Combined Security Transition Command- Afghanistan.

To say that he spent his life in law enforcement would be an understatement. He was very proud of his accomplishments and the integrity that he was able to maintain while holding these positions.

He is survived by his wife, Kimberlie Loe DeLaughter, stepdaughter Katie Prince, husband Zac, grandson Dean Turner and stepson Jacob Sheets of Emmet, Arkansas.

He had a grandson Sammy Sheets, who he adored with everything that he had. He was definitely the light of his world, all day, and every day.

He also had his bonus brothers that he acquired in marriage, Robert Loe, wife Beckie of McCaskill, Arkansas and Randy Loe, wife Lisa, and Mikey Loe of Prescott, Arkansas, and Tommy Loe of Hot Springs, Arkansas. He always wanted extended family, and he finally had it.

He is going to be missed so badly.

Family Visitation will be Sunday, January 4, 2026, at 1:00 pm, with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 pm at Brazzell/Cornish The Funeral Home in Prescott, Arkansas.
