Thomas Charles “Charlie” Lawrence – Updated

Thomas Charles “Charlie” Lawrence was born March 8th, 1955, to Thurman and Mary Lawrence in Shreveport, Louisiana. He passed away January 11, 2026. He attended school at Prescott School District then went into the United States Army. He was stationed in Germany where he became an Army Ranger. After serving, he went into the home construction business with his father where he spent over 40 years working in the community.
Charlie was the definition of patriarch; dedicated to his family, loving, strong and kind. He loved cookouts with family, hunting, riding horses and motorcycles, and was known for his strong work ethic that never faded. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to whoever was in need. In his later years, his grandchildren were the light of his life. His role as Papaw extended well beyond his own grandchildren, touching the lives of many children who saw him as their own.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thurman and Mary Lawrence, stepmother Alice Lawrence, sisters Wanda Long and Jamie Harris, and a host of loved ones.
Charlie is survived by his sisters Beth Anderson and husband David, Brenda Brinkley and husband Butch. Children; Chris Lawrence, Jennifer Lyle, Anna Birdsong and husband Andrew, Justin Lawrence and wife Hillary, Jeremy Lawrence and wife Elizabeth, and Zack Lawrence and wife Cassidy. Grandchildren; Dylan, Caleb and wife Tori, Jordan, Rachel, Addilynn, Abella, Aaron, Wyatt, Kynzleigh, Natalie, Carter, Charlee, Coy, and Levi and two great grandchildren, Leighton and Emmett. Plus, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.
Charlie touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. We know he now resides with his loving Father in Heaven.
Funeral service will be at 2:00pm on Saturday, January 17th, 2026, at Brazzel-Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott with Bro. Neal Ridling officiating.
