Fulton & Guernsey VFDs assist at Buzzard’s Bluff fire

HOMAN – The Fulton and Guernsey Volunteer Fire Departments provided Mutual Aid Assistance overnight at an industrial fire at Tyson – Texarkana River Valley Animal Food plant near Homan in Miller County.

Mandeville Fire & Rescue answered a call to a structure fire at the plant on Miller County 64. Up on arrival, they found the compressor room and the roof of the two-story building on fire. Mandeville was joined by units and personnel from Trinity and Genoa Volunteer Fire Departments from Miller County and Fulton and Guernsey Volunteer Fire Departments from Hempstead County.

Mandeville Fire & Rescue in a statement said, “We were able to contain the fire and eventually put the roof out as well. As always, I like to thank Trinity Volunteer Fire Department and Genoa Volunteer Fire Department for bringing us water and manpower. Also, a special thanks to our neighbors in Hempstead County Fulton and Guernsey VFD for coming to our aid on a very cold night.”
