Emma “Jean” Hawthorne

Emma “Jean” Hawthorne, 72, of Prescott, AR passed away peacefully Sunday, February 1, 2026.

Jean was born May 1, 1953, in Hope, AR to the late Clyde and Mittie Wheat Hawthorne.

She was a retired retail store manager and of Baptist faith. Jean was an avid gardener and loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. She loved the Lord and would read her Bible every day.  Helping others was a trait that stood out in Jean whether it was for her family or a stranger.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Mittie Hawthorne, two sisters Mary Kizer and Martha Moten, six brothers Clyde Hawthorne, Jr, James Hawthorne, Dave Hawthorne, Robert Hawthorne, Albert Hawthorne and Jeffery Hawthorne.

Left to cherish her memories are her two sons, Gary Hicks (Melissa) and Terry Hicks (Kristie); three sisters Lois Wilson, Nancy Adams, and Patricia Clayton (Paul); her ten grandchildren, Tyler Hicks, Sophia Hicks, Megan Henderson, Brandie Arnold, Jessica DiMarco, Sam Waters, Kirtis Waters, Tyler Glass, Jenna Henderson and Dallas Crumley; seven great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Jean’s nurses who cared for her and Susan, her hospice aide.

Services are pending and this time and will be announced by Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home of Prescott.
