Hope School District Board Approves Routine Items, Reviews Superintendent Evaluation

Hope, Ark. – February 9, 2026 The Hope School District Board of Education held a brief meeting Monday evening (2-9) at Hempstead Hall, where members quickly moved through a series of routine agenda items before entering an executive session. The meeting, held upstairs at the venue, was called to order and began with the approval of inventory deletions, an official process used to remove outdated or out-of-stock items from district records. Board members also approved replacing devices, a standard procedure that authorizes small, budgeted purchases for district needs. In addition, the board approved SAM purchases and SAM project items for district-wide administrators across all four schools. Although the SAM program uses single-source federal funding, it still requires board authorization.
Following these items, the board entered executive session to conduct a superintendent evaluation, a discussion lasting approximately 30 minutes, and the members returned to open session and adjourned.
After the board’s adjournment, downstairs at Hempstead Hall, an informational meeting was held regarding the district’s proposed millage increase. The presentation emphasized goals “to keep our students safe, improve our schools, and create opportunities for every child.” District representatives highlighted the hope that this increase will help “every child [have] access to a safe environment, modern learning spaces, and opportunities to help them thrive,” framing the proposal as an investment in a “better and brighter future” for the community’s students.
