Nevada County Quorum Court February meeting

PRESCOTT – The Nevada County Quorum Court met Tuesday for its February session.

Mary Godwin with Nevada County Economic Development passed out sales tax and website information. She then talked about a grant the county could apply for with ArDOT to repair bridges. She gave a Broadband update. Godwin concluded with a proposed carbon black capital improvements for Anmrize (former Firestone.)

Valarie Cobb with the Chamber of Commerce gave an update on the upcoming Chamber Banquet and passed out a flyer with upcoming events.

The Solid Waste Financial Statement was presented to the court.

Linda Bridges asked the court for any help the county could give to the animal shelter she runs in lower Nevada County. Attorney Rowe Stayton said the county could help, but it would have to be on a contract basis. After discussion, the topic was tabled for 30 days.

The last business item was the choosing of Dennis Pruitt as delegate to the Arkansas Association of Quorum Courts.
