$1,000,000 bond set in Lafayette County rape case

LEWISVILLE – On February 13th, Jose Espinoza-Castillo, from Lewisville was arrested by Lafayette County Sheriff’s Deputies for the alleged rape of a 12-year-old juvenile.
Espinoza-Castillo made a first court appearance before Judge Carlton Jones, who set bond at $1,000,000. Espinoza-Castillo was already being held on a $300,000 bond for terroristic threatening and is facing federal firearms charges. Espinoza-Castillo has immigration detainer through ICE for his legal status in the United States.
Lafayette County Sheriff Jeff Black stated, “These types of (alleged) crimes will not be tolerated in Lafayette County and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
