Communities Unlimited to host two Entrepreneurship Workshops in Lewisville

LEWISVILLE – Starting or running a business can feel overwhelming, but a new set of hands-on workshops in Lewisville, Arkansas aims to give local entrepreneurs a clear path forward. As part of its Launch Local initiative, the Entrepreneurship Team at Communities Unlimited (CU) will host two upcoming workshops — Empower Entrepreneurship and Capital Readiness — on March 21 and April 4 at the Lafayette County Training Center. Both workshops are offered at no cost to participants.
Both workshops will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Build your skills and move your business forward — register now for Empower Entrepreneurship and Capital Readiness. The workshops will be facilitated by Dale Rutherford, CU’s Area Director of Entrepreneurship.
The Empower Entrepreneurship session will cover the fundamentals of starting a successful business, giving participants the tools and resources needed to turn ideas into a solid plan. The Capital Readiness workshop will prepare participants to pursue business funding by helping them understand financial requirements and how to position their business to attract capital for growth.
The Launch Local program — an evolution of the MEMShop model that began in Memphis, Tennessee, in 2012 — is designed to activate vacant or underused storefronts by selecting local businesses through a competitive process and equipping them with small grants, technical assistance and training. Through this effort, CU helps entrepreneurs grow their businesses while supporting stronger commercial corridors.
As new economic activity begins to take shape in the region, local leaders expect increased demand for small businesses and services. These workshops are part of CU’s broader work in Lewisville, where its Community Sustainability, Community Infrastructure, Broadband and Lending Teams are already engaged to support the community’s growth. By helping residents start and strengthen businesses now, CU aims to ensure local entrepreneurs are ready to benefit from the opportunities ahead.
