HOPE – Hope Public Schools is celebrating Black History this month. Yerger Museum will host Celebrating history through Education on February 26th from 4-5:30.

Beryl Henry is celebrating Future Leaders in Action. Gracie, a student at BHE was principal for a day and learned that the job involves even more responsibility and decision making than she expected. She gained a deeper appreciation for leadership and the work behind the scenes. In turn Principal Jones gained a fresh perspective, identifying a few blind spots and embraced the excitement of seeing through a student’s eyes.

Hope High presented outstanding student awards with pictures posted on the site as well as awards presented in person during the school board meeting.

Posted was a statement that Arkansas has a powerful place in Black History. The district proudly recognizes leaders whose impact continues. Daisy Bates (who guided the Little Rock Nine), Little Rock Nine, John H. Johnson (founder of Jet and Ebony) and Al Green (legendary singer) were all recognized.
