Hempstead County Quorum Court Holds February Meeting
Hope, Ark. – The Hempstead County Quorum Court convened for its regular monthly meeting on Thursday evening, February 26th, with County Judge Crane calling the session to order. Justice Jesse Henry offered the invocation, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. A roll call confirmed the presence of the attending justices of the peace. Minutes from the January 22, 2026, meeting were reviewed and approved without amendment.
Judge Crane distributed the list of names for the newly formed budget committee, noting that the committee’s work is part of an ongoing process. He added that additional details and updates would be shared as the group moves forward with its responsibilities.
In election-related updates, officials reported that early voting for the midterm primary and election reached nearly 1,000 voters—an exceptionally strong turnout for the county. The court also received an update on Hempstead Connect, the county’s new smartphone application. The app is now fully operational, and citizens are encouraged to explore its features and submit suggestions for improvements or additional services that could benefit the public.
Toward the end of the meeting, justices shared requests to keep family members, friends of the court, and others within the community who are facing illness or personal challenges in their thoughts and prayers, continuing a longstanding tradition of mutual support among those present. With no further business and no additional public comments, Judge Crane adjourned the meeting.
