William Otis Hamilton – Updated

William Otis Hamilton of Emmet AR passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family after short battle with cancer. Born May 8th, 1941, he was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and will be greatly missed. He was a devout Christian, attending Calvary Baptist in Hope and Midway Methodist in Prescott in his final years. Bill enjoyed singing and playing guitar with friends in a variety of bands. He worked for over 40 years at the SFA Farm Store in Hope, after a variety of other positions including Neiman Marcus, Hudson Foods and Prescott Feed Mill.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife Margaret Rose Hamilton (nee Savage and Ponder) of 38 years, his parents Joe T Hamilton and Sarah Louise Ray Hamilton, brother Wendell Ray Hamilton, son Erik Leeson Ponder and daughter-in-law Cindy Reck Ponder. He is survived by four sons: Stephen Ponder of Springdale AR, Anthony Ponder (Kristi) of Kissimmee FL, David Hamilton of Searcy AR, Jason Hamilton (Linda) of Emmet, 9 grandchildren, 2 great grands and our special friend Carolyn Harper and her family.

Visitation will be held 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Brazzel-Oakcrest Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 2, 2026, at Brazzel-Oakcrest Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Snell Cemetery.
