James Bankard Davis, Jr (JB) – Updated

James Bankard Davis, Jr (JB) passed away at his home in Fulton, Arkansas on March 16, 2026. He was 99 years old. He leaves his wife to cherish his memory, Patricia Greenlaw Davis, after 77 years of marriage.

JB was born on January 18, 1927, in Roseville, California. He spent most of his life in Roseville, California and only moved to Fulton, Arkansas in November 2024.

He was a proud graduate of Roseville High School, where he excelled in football, baseball, and boxing. He was later drafted into the Army and served in the Korean Conflict.

JB retired after many years of service with the Southern Pacific Railroad. He was a Switchman who worked the swing shift from 4:00 to midnight. He was also a retired Carpenter. He worked two full-time jobs his whole working career so his wife could be a stay-at-home mom.

JB was the self-proclaimed Cribbage Champion player of the family. He loved playing all types of cards, but he especially enjoyed beating numerous family members at Cribbage. He was also an avid golf player and accumulated 7* holes in ones over his lifetime.

His parents, Jame Bankard Davis and Juanita Davis preceded him in death. He was also preceded by his sister, Inez Davis, his brother, Thomas W. Davis, and his youngest son, Thomas R. Davis.

JB is survived by his daughter, Kathy Davis Struckman (Henry) and his son, James B. Davis, III (Andrea), and his daughter-in-law, Marcella Hunter Davis.

He was blessed with 7 grandchildren, Wendy Jones (Kenny), Hal Struckman (Debbie), Jennifer Ferris (Lance), Cheryl Davis (Victor), Amy Davis, Tamara Dillard (Ryan), and Veronica Deck (Chase). JB also had 16 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.

A Rosary will be held on March 26th at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church in Hope, Arkansas at 10:00 am. A Funeral Mass will be held directly following the Rosary. The family will receive friends at noon for visitation and lunch at the home of Kathy and Henry Struckman at the farm in Fulton.

James Bankard Davis, Jr, a member of St. Rose Catholic Church, will be buried at a later date in Roseville, California.
