While having numerous thunderstorms and flash flood watch and warnings throughout the month of February the rain left some areas flooded and roads damaged. Over the month Hempstead County received a total of 13.21 inches of rain from a normal of 4.51 inches. The most rainfall received in February was on the 23rd with the total amount of 2.73 inches. At the end of February Hempstead County had received a total amount of 15.55 inches for the year. With the rain continuing to fall into the month of March we are hoping to see spring flowers and sunshine soon.
