Lions Installation

The Hope Lions Club held their annual Installation Night at Hempstead Hall Monday. The line-up of incoming officers were sworn-in. They included President Nathan Gerth, First Vice-President Sheba Smith, 2nd Vice-President Mark Ross, 3rd Vice-President Janet Choate, Secretary Doyle Brewer, and Penny Everett as Assistant Secretary. Bobby Loe was once again installed as Treasurer with John Trauger Assistant Treasurer. Ken Shafer was installed as Tail Twister and Craig Robinson, who was absent, will also serve as Tail Twister. Jack Still and Robert Green will serve as Lion Tamer. Milko Smith was named to the Global Membership Team with James Griffin serving as LCIF Chairman. Dave Phillips will serve on the Global Service Team and Mark Keith will serve in Marketing and Communications.
Seven Members were installed as Directors. They included Jim Gunter, Richard Ross, Jason Jobe, Ed Flagg, John Collier, Charles Looney, and Steve Montgomery. Dr. Linda Clark was recognized as Immediate Past President and will also serve on the board in that capacity.
Several Lions received special awards. Receiving Dalstrom Awards were Sheba Smith as well as Richard and Rosetta Hogue. Receiving a Melvin Jones Award was Lion Ed Flagg.
The program wrapped up with the announcement of “Lion of the Year”. Dr. Linda Clark was awarded that honor.
