Coffee and faith go hand in hand

“HeBREWs the coffee and the soul, “ said the owner of the new coffee house in downtown Hope. The new coffee hot spot is in the historic downtown national building where its split level atmosphere provides comfort and a little joy with its lavish decor. The decor breathes of cultural and local connections. Owners Arnetta and Chad Bradford lined the walls with bible verses and pictures of exchange students from all over the world. Mrs. Bradford works as a Program of Academic Exchange leader where she helps place exchange students in good homes and follows up to make sure they are well cared for.

“ All of the pictures are of my kids. That is my heart.”  The Bradford’s, which seem to be the definition of a power couple, said they wanted to open a place where people from all walks of life could come together and fellowship. “ I am all about finding out what the need is and trying to fill that need, “ Mrs. Bradford said. “ We wanted to do something to reflect our life and this is who we are,” the couple agreed. “ The atmosphere here is really to connect all people, regardless of color or status.”

The menu is full of all flavors of hot and cold coffees and creams, some American and some foreign. “ We have wifi and couches, hopefully a place where college students can come,” Mrs. Bradford added. They have a piano and a set up for open mic night.

Bradford and her husband are lifetime residents of Hope and wanted to do something to give back to the community they love and call home.

“ I love Hope. I feel like its a place that is true to its name,”she said. The current hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Bradford’s also hope to offer a food menu as well as a trivia night along with open mic and poetry night. Hebrews 11:1 states: Now faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. Bradford said she hopes people will come and relax and when they leave, she said, “ I hope faith follows them.”
