Opal Jean Henry-Ingram was the oldest child, born to the parentage of Pete Henry and Ada Woods on Thursday, October 18, 1934 in Rosston, Arkansas. Opal accepted Christ at an early age. She was a member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Rosston, AR. She also raised her younger siblings after their mother passed away at the tender age of 18.
Opal received her education from the Nevada County Training School and Oak Grove Public School in Rosston, AR. She was united in holy matrimony to Darris Lee Ingram and to this union seven children were born. She was known for her cooking and she loved to fish. Opal also worked as a teacher’s aid at the former Oak Grove Public School.
She loved people and was a mother to many children that she didn’t bore. Opal attended church on a regular basis until her health began to fail. She departed this earthly life on Friday, October 4, 2019.
Opal was predeceased by her parents, Pete Henry and Ada Woods, husband, Darris Lee Ingram, one son, Juan Recardo Ingram, one sister, Bonnie Sue Mixon, four brothers; Raymond Askew, Anthony Askew, Ollie Madison and Malvin Henry, and son-in-law, Charles Mitchell.
She leaves to cherish her memory: two daughters; Dorothy G. Ingram and Teresa M. Ingram-Mitchell of Rosston, AR, four sons; Rodriquez R. Ingram, Dorris L. Ingram (Mykethia) of Rosston, AR, Darrell Ingram of Malvern, AR and Doyle Ingram (Charlotte) of Prescott, AR, two sisters; Mary Lou Ingram of Prescott, AR and Virgie Ingram of Camden, AR, 18 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
