HCHS explores rail history

HOPE – With the recent visit by the Union Pacific “Big Boy” engine, there has been a renewed interest in the railroad history of our area. Hope was established because of the railroad.

Come learn about the different type of train engines that have been in Hope at the Hempstead County Historical Society on Tuesday evening November 26, 2019 at the Hope Visitor Center and Museum at 100 East Division Street in Hope, Arkansas at 7pm. Everyone is welcome. The guest speaker for the evening will be local historian, Keenan Williams. He will show his collection of photographs of train engines in Hope dating from the 1960s to the 1970s.

The Historical Society seeks to bring awareness to the rich heritage and history of Hempstead County. Come and share your history with us.
