Hope Lions Auction Big Success
The 70th annual Hope Lions Club Christmas Auction was deemed a big success after three nights of bidding which ended at the stroke of midnight Saturday. Hundreds, maybe thousands of items passed through the auction. Almost every merchant in Hope was called upon and responded generously with merchandise to be auctioned. The biggest item was a 2012 Toyota Cambry donated by Robbins Toyota of Texarkana. The money will be used to purchase Christmas baskets for 130 needy Hempstead County families this Christmas. Applications are available at the Chamber of Commerce at Main & 2nd downtown.
