Remains found between Hope and Spring Hill
According to Hempstead County Sheriff James Singleton, some boys scouting places to hunt found skeletal remains believed to be human Sunday (12-15) around 3:30pm. The remains were found about two miles from the Hope City Limits off state highway 174 south. The young men contacted the Sheriff’s Department and they responded as did the Arkansas State Police. The remains have been recovered and will be sent to the state crime lab to determine a cause of death. Sheriff Singleton said the bones have not been identified but he believes it could be one of three persons classified as missing from the county. He noted one of the missing persons lived not far from where the remains were found. Sheriff Singleton said they expect to have more information on Monday.
