Robert Phillips

Robert L. Phillips was born Thursday, July 5, 1945 in Hope, Arkansas. He was the son of Talbot and Mary Phillips. He joined Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Perrytown at an early age.
Robert received his education from Yerger High School, graduating in 1965. He honorably served his country as a Sergeant in the United States Air Force from May 28, 1965 until May 27, 1971. During his service he received two medals, a National Defense Air Medal and an Air Force Good Conduct Medal. Robert was stationed at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas; Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage, Alaska; and Barksdale Air Force Base in Shreveport, Louisiana.
After his services ended in May of 1971, he returned back to his hometown of Hope, AR where he started to work at Home Furniture. Years later, he moved to Little Rock, AR and began working for Target Distribution Center until his health failed. Robert fathered five children; three boys and two girls. He also loved playing tennis, reading books, and watching football. Robert passed away at age 74 on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at VA Hospital in Little Rock, AR. Robert and many memories will remain in the hearts of his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Herbert Phillips and Arthur Phillips; and a sister, Judy Johnson.
Robert leaves to cherish his memories; three sons, Anthony “Tony” Jefferson of Las Vegas, Nevada, Robert (Sherese) Phillips of Hope, AR and Thsombe (Nicole) Phillips of Wichita, Kansas; two daughters, Kamilah (Anthony) Hatchett and Leatrice Phillips both of Little Rock, AR; one brother, Steve (Jonnalyn) Phillips of Wichita Falls, TX; one sister, Jeanette Phillips of Hope, AR; ten grandchildren, Tianna and Taylor Jefferson, Chanse and Chassidy Phillips, Isaiah Phillips and Jasmine Craig, Vincent Jones, Jr., Kamaria Jones, Miley Hatchett and Kameron Roberts; special friends, Erbert Brooks and Joe Roy; and several other close relatives and friends.
