The current show at the Southwest Arkansas Arts Council gallery at Walnut and Division is filled with beautiful, evocative photographs by Rodney Steele. A graduate of Hope High, he is married to hope native Becky Garrett Steele. Rodney is a graduate of Centenary College in Shreveport and the Lliff School of Theology in Denver. Before retiring and returning to Hope last year, Rodney served as a United Methodist minister in Mineral springs, Van Buren, Murfreesboro, Little Rock, Rogers, Conway, Arkadelphia, and Texarkana. He began taking photographs in junior high school and is most passionate about outdoor photography. His photographs have been published in numerous books, magazines, newspapers, and on various websites. Rodney’s photographs have also helped raise thousands of dollars to alleviate childhood hunger and provide fresh water wells.
