Farmers Market Vendor Training

The Hope, Washington, and Nashville Farmers Markets held their annual vendor training Tuesday at the Southwest Research and Extension Center near Hope.  Hope Farmers Market Manager Jodi Coffee (shown here with vendor Jane Collums) said the event is held every year.  This event gives vendors the opportunity to sign up to sell at all three markets. This is the only time vendors can sign up for all three markets at once.

The event featured County Agent Stacey Stone talking about pesticides and farm visits.  Also, the group heard from school nutrition directors speak to the vendors about possibly providing food to the school cafeterias.
The Hope Farmers Market will kick off May 5th.  The Hope Market is held from 7am until 11am on Tuesdays.  Washington’s market is in Saturdays.
Coffee said last year’s market had the largest regular number of vendors in it’s history.
When asked if she had any closing remarks about the Farmers Market, Coffee smiled and said “eat fresh and buy local!”
