Easter storm a rough one

PRESCOTT – Sunday evening’s storm was the worst the area’s seen in a while, according to Prescott Mayor Terry Oliver.

Oliver said the storm caused some damage in town, including taking the roof off Jerry’s Body Shop, knocking down the sign at Ratcliff’s Insurance along with uprooting several trees. Oliver said a number of trees were across the streets in town, two houses had trees on them and the roads were blocked for a while. City crews worked the clear the streets and restore power as electricity flickered repeatedly.

Oliver said there were six or seven trees across Rosston Road, which took the longest to clean. He added the sanitation department was involved in the cleanup from the storm and if trash isn’t picked up on both sides of town today, what was missed will be picked up Tuesday.
