One Killed, 2 Injured in Spring Hill Road Crash

HOPE – One person is dead and two others injured in a head-on collision Wednesday morning on the Spring Hill Road near Hope. According to the preliminary report by Arkansas State Trooper Antonio May, a 2010 Honda Civic driven by Richard B. Hooks, 42, of Spring Hill, was traveling east on Highway 174 near Hempstead County Road 1040 when he apparently crossed the center line, striking a 2017 Ford F-150 pickup driven by John K. Rutledge, 61 of Hope. Hooks died in the crash. Rutledge, and a passenger, 64-year-old Shirley Rutledge, were injured and taken to Wadley Regional Medical Centers in Hope and Texarkana.
