CADC Packing Emergency Food Boxes


Around 5 dozen volunteers and Central Arkansas Development Council staffers gathered at the Fair Park Coliseum to pack emergency food boxes on Wednesday morning. Volunteers from throughout the community helped including representatives from the Hope Noon Lions, the Hope Chamber of Commerce, the Boy Scouts, Lighthouse Church, the 2 Wheel Cruisers Motorcycle Club, the Sugar Town Riders Motorcycle Club, Mitchell’s Furniture, BancorpSouth, the Hempstead County Women’s Farm Bureau Committee, and other entities took park in the packing of 500 boxes. The boxes will have about 65 pounds of food in them and will be distributed Thursday from 10am until 2pm at the Fair Park Coliseum. This will be a drive-up distribution. Those applying will have to report their income and produce a photo I.D. The effort is part of CADC’s work to distribute 10,000 boxes to needy families in 19 counties.
