Mary Avery

Mary Ann Avery passed away on November 25th, 2021, at the age of 82. She was born Mary Ann Rogers on December 19th, 1938;
growing up in the small community of Shover Springs, just outside of Hope. Her parents were Ruby Rogers and Roy Rogers, both predeceased her in death.
She worked for Southwestern Bell in Hope, and a few years in Little Rock before retiring with over thirty years of service with the telephone company. She was a prayer warrior and actively studied God’s Word. She enjoyed cooking for her family, with her specialty being chocolate pie and fried chicken. Her family affectionately called her Mimi. Mimi’s happiness was never more evident than when she was with her family; especially when she played with her three great-grandsons. One of the most important things in her life was knowing that all of her family and friends were believers in Jesus Christ. She had made it known for many years that when her time came to leave this earth, she wanted us to remember one of her favorite scriptures “to be absent from the body, is to be present with The Lord” – 2 Corinthians 5:8.
