Area blanketed by snow

PRESCOTT – A late-season snow blanketed the area Friday afternoon, reminding everyone winter isn’t quite over yet.
The day began with mild temperatures in the mid- to upper-50s, but the mercury began falling after noon and continued to drop throughout the day. The morning’s sunny skies turned grey in the early afternoon, with rain being the first thing to fall. As the day wore on, rain changed to a heavy snow, with more than an inch sticking.
Saturday dawned sunny, with the snow starting to melt.
