Cecil Eugene “Pete” Tippitt Jr.

Cecil Eugene “Pete” Tippitt Jr., age 79, of Prescott, Arkansas passed away Thursday, March 3, 2022, at Overton Brook VA Medical Center in Shreveport, Louisiana.  He was born November 20, 1942, to Hazel Mildred Tippitt and Cecil Eugene “Mutt” Tippitt Sr. in Prescott, Arkansas.

At an early age, Pete enlisted in the United States Army.  He went to Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri for basic training. Pete went on to Okinawa to serve in the Vietnam War.

Pete was a member of First Baptist Church in Prescott. After returning home from working road construction, he joined Joe Wren in the back pew.  This would be the beginning of a new life changing experience with Brother Frank guiding him as he called “the man upstairs”.

Pete enjoyed getting attention from his family, raising animals, hunting, fishing, gardening, and going to the local coffee shops for breakfast to talk mess and give the waitress a hard time.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter Ruthann Hazel Tippitt; sister Shirley Tippitt; three brothers in law Jimmy Jester, Donnie Prewitt, and James Hicks; sister-in-law Barbara Ward.

Pete is survived by his wife of 36 years Janice Tippitt; two daughters Tina Hubbard (Joe) and Samantha Tippitt (Don); one son Michael Tippitt (Brittney); step daughter Shelley Cox.   Pete’s children provided him with plenty of grandchildren and great grandchildren: Kelsey (Chris), Skyler (Jess), Taylor (Hunter), Trace (Brianna), Ariana (Jacobi), Kiera Simmons, Avery Hubbard, Derby Tippitt, Spencer Hubbard, Cooper Dendy, Hudson Dendy, Newt Tippitt, Parker Calhoon, Will Beck, Adam Parker, and Angel Hathaway. His loving sisters Judy Jester, Charlotte Prewitt, and Sherry Little (Coy).  His brother-in-law Tommy Hicks (Joyce) and sister-in-law Sue Hicks and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family will receive visitors on Saturday, April 2, 2022, from 10 am-12pm at First Baptist Church of Prescott.

Memorial Services will be held Sunday, April 3, 2022, at 2pm at First Baptist Church of Prescott with Bro. Frank Henson, Bro. Donnie Deaton, and Bro. Jerry Westmoreland officiating, under the direction of Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Home of Prescott.
