Anna Powell Speaks To Hope Kiwanis On United Way

Anna Powell gave the program at Kiwanis Tuesday. She spoke on behalf of the United Way of Hempstead County. Ms. Powell informed the group that the majority of the funding the group receives is from their annual membership campaign and the golf tournament. The organization has been unable to have the golf tournament due to COVID for the past two years and this has had a negative impact on their funding. They have had to cut funding amounts distributed to some of the agencies they support. In order to fill this funding void they are adding a new fundraiser this fall that will be a formal gala event. This event is being chaired by Amanda Lance and more details will be available in the future.
