Hope Lions Hear Program On Charitable Christian Clinic

The Hope Lions Club heard from Tim Nix of the Charitable Christian Clinic on Monday. Nix noted the clinic has been active for almost 25 years and currently has its own facility on Main Street. The clinic is held the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month. Nix says 15 to 25 volunteers help at each clinic. There are 3 medical exam rooms. Dr. Dale Goins and Dr. George Garrett work virtually every clinic with other doctors taking turns. The clinic also has a pharmacy. The volunteers usually see about 30 patients each clinic. Nix noted the clinic also offers prayer and counseling with those who visit the clinic. Last year the clinic saw 719 patients and cost about $29,000.
The Hope Lions will hold their annual fundraising fish fry Thursday May 26th from 4:30pm to 7pm at the Fair Park Coliseum. The cost will be $12 per person and you can eat in or get orders to go. There will also be a live dessert auction. Tickets will be available at the door.
