Hope Public Schools Upcoming Events

April 11 – Star Academy Ribbon Cutting and Open House at Yerger Middle
School. This event will take place at 10:00am (please arrive early if
you want pre-event interviews) with an Open House welcome, a tour of
the Star Academy Classrooms, a ribbon cutting, and a mingling event
afterward. There should be ample opportunity to interview students,
administrators and personnel from NOLAedu (the organization who
sponsors the Star Academy program). Attached is an informational
flyer.
April 13 – Hope Public Schools Magnet Fair. This takes place on April
13, from 5pm-7pm at Hempstead Hall in Hope. Please arrive early if you
want pre-event interviews. There will be a welcome by the
Superintendent and tables from each campus displaying information with
students and administrators available to answer questions and discuss
the upcoming school year. This event will provide parents of students
who are going into the 5th-8th grades next school year to learn about
the educational offerings for the middle school campuses which are
part of the district’s federal magnet school program. The $15M magnet
grant received by the district will be used to provide new curricular
and extracurricular opportunities across all the grade levels
(prek-12), and the Magnet Fair will concentrate on the newly defined
program designations to be taking place at the Hope Academy for Public
Service (HAPS), Beryl Henry Elementary, and Yerger Middle Schools.
April 17 – Hope Public Schools 5-Year Plan Update. This event will
take place at Hempstead Hall at 5:00pm. The Superintendent and
selected speakers will provide information to the public regarding the
district’s magnet grant, the millage increase the district is seeking,
and further information about the foundation scholarship. There should
be ample opportunity to talk with administrators, school board
members, and the public at large regarding these various topics.
Following the presentation, there will be a regular school board
meeting.
