Weather perfect for Easter Egg Hunt

PRESCOTT – City Park was filled with children Saturday, all hoping to find the golden egg.

Saturday, the Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce held its annual Easter Egg Hunt, changing the location from the Nevada County Fairgrounds to the City Park. The change of location didn’t bother anyone as children were thrilled to get their faces painted, chow down on cotton candy, play in the bounce houses, do the sack races and bean bag toss, along with spoon racing. However, the prime attraction was the Easter Egg hunt.

For those ages 1-3, the hunt was held on the tennis courts. Toddlers and their parents flooded the courts in search of the eggs, taking no time to find them all. From there, those 4-7 had their hunt on the baseball field next to the tennis courts. They were off and running when Jamie Hillery, executive director of the Chamber, gave the word. Again, it took little time for the field to be cleansed of eggs. The 8-10 group hunted by the playground equipment and splash pad. Some didn’t bother hunting eggs as much as playing on the equipment, but it didn’t take long for all the eggs to be found.

Three lucky youngsters went home with their prizes after finding the golden egg.

When the egg hunt was over, many stayed around to have fun at the other events, sponsored by both the Rotary and Kiwanis clubs.
