Hope School Board Recognizes Students, Staff, Parents, and Community Partners
There was an extensive list of students, parents, staff and community members recognized at the school board meeting. For March the list is as follows:
Lydia Harrison from Clinton was recognized as a sweet and kind student who is eager to learn and a great friend. Parent Britney Stinson-Bostic is very involved in her child’s education and goes above and beyond to ensure her child is successful. Certified Staff member Shari Smith has excellent student engagement She donates her time, energy and resources to help her peers and students. Classified Staff Member Carlos Van Hook has excellent attendance, is eager to assist staff and students when needed. He is a positive role model for our young men. Community Partner/Member Pairs and Spares group at First United Methodist Church were thanked for their donation of clothing.
For HAPS Nathalie Garcia was recognized for her creation of the Easter Egg Hunt on HAPS campus. Patricia Morales Borboa was recognized for her support of the office staff. Staff Member Marilyn Marks was recognized for managing and preparing testing season for all staff, students and parents. Linda Dunn was recognized for management of morning bus duty. Community members Sandy and John Henry were recognized for donations to the food pantry.
For Burl Henry Elementary Amiria Booker was recognized for completing work on time, having a gentle voice and being very respectful as well as being an all around great student. Certified Staff Member Kirby Bradley keeps the teacher workroom decorated this enhancing the morale of the staff Classified Staff Member Dorothy Pree is willing to help out where needed. She cares about and works well with the students. First United sent flowers to BHE as well as prayers and support.
For Yerger student Autumn Flenory was recognized for her selection by the East Initiatove conference as a “Difference Maker”. Only 150 students were selected out of 4,000 at the conference.
Staff member Eddra Philips was recognized for her successful first year with the YMS East team at the East Conference in Hot Springs. She continues to go above and beyond to make Yerger a great place to be. Her efforts in her inaugural year in East have been outstanding. She is also juggling last minute yearbook tasks.
For Hope High School Noel Chatham was recognized for his adapting well to the environment. He played on the basketball team this year and the staff wants to encourage Noel to continue on his path of success.
Parent Angela Cuteness was recognized for her supporting the school in everything it does, advocating through social media and being a positive voice within the community.
Staff members Michelle Lloyd and Ms Dorlene were recognized. Ms Lloyd was given credit for her reliability in the classroom and extra curricular activities. Ms Dorlene was said to be found the campus carrying a big and friendly smile clearly greeting everyone with an inviting hello.
Diamond State Bank received recognition for it donation to help with sponsoring prom and yearbook. Anytime they are asked for help their response is always “how can I help?”
For Pre-K student Avery Gant was recognized as was parent Mary Gant. Avery was said to be always kind and respectful and trying her best and always thoughtful of others. Mary was said to be always willing to help and a wonderful, involved parent.
Staff members Jackie Whitney and Yrais Flores received recognition. Whitney was stated to have a sunny, cheerful personality that always brightens even the darkest day! Flores was stated as always willing to give a hand to those in need, both at school and in the community.
Community member Becky Hunter at the Cooperative Extension Office comes and shares healthy eating choices and lessons with the students and jumps right in!
For April the list is as follows:
Clinton Primary
Marichuy Dominguez was recognized for doing her work, being kind, following class and school rules daily. She was said to be respectful and responsible and always willing to help other adults and students.
Staff members Tina Smith and Misty Bracken were also recognized. Smith was said to be dedicated to CPS students and providing Dyslexia Therapy daily and being a passionate educator. Miss Bracken was said to be very organized and dependable, professional, self-motivated and task-oriented.
Community members Ivan Smith and Becky Williams were recognized for supporting Clinton Primary and staff.
HAPS
Student Ella Lafferty was recognized for stepping up to help with younger students who need a “big sister” to support them.
Parent Margaret McLaughlin was recognized for providing the staff meal at the Spring SLC Conferences.
Staff members Jocelyn Bagalot and Marcia Widel were recognized. Begalot was said to have rejuvenated the 7-8 grade science department and being a huge help during SLCs. Widely was said to have created a healthy environment for students and staff at HAPS.
Community member Terry Jes was recognized for providing Healthy Snacks workshops for students to learn to make nutritious and healthy snacks.
Burl Henry
Wyatt Wilcox was recognized for veing always positive and smiling and wanting everyone to have a friend.
Parent LaDonna Samuels was recognized for being always there to help out when and whenever she could even though she doesn’t have a child on campus.
Staff members: Shawn Ray and Laurie Mathis were recognized. Ray received recognition for being willing to pitch in at a moment’s notice and going above and beyond to support students and staff Matthis was recognized for always there for the kids even if it is just to give them an ice pack and being very caring and compassionate about the students.
Farmer’s Bank was recognized for the donation of dinner during the Parent-Teacher conferences.
Pre-K
Student Kendra Johnson was recognized for giving a high, smile and gifts to the teachers and making them feel special as well as being a hard worker and doing her best in class.
Parent Oscar Ruiz was recognized for being always friendly and kind to the staff and making sure that his son is there on time and ready for learning.
Staff members Kelly Williamson and Socorro Henley were recognized. Williamson was said to work with the staff to help all of the students succeed and working hard to make sure that each student was ready. Henley was said to always be happy to see the children and work with them as well as always being willing to give a helping hand when anyone at Pre-K needs it.
Farmer’s Bank was recognized for always keeping the District in mind and being a great asset to the community.
