John Cain Chapter DAR Hears Program From Cindi Newsom

The John Cain Chapter of DAR met April 13th at the Hempstead County Library at 2:30. The program was presented by Cindi Newsom on conservation. She talked about the differences between Earth Day and Arbor day. Earth Day is about all kinds of clean up and recycling. Plastic use is a big problem in landfills and oceans. Earth Day is also about protecting bees, butterflies and planting bushes and flowers that attract them. Arbor Day is about planting new trees and forests in areas that have been damaged by fire. Trees add to the property value of your home Trees help the environment. Go to either website for more information.
